Mostly Stock1999 Dodge Caravan

The third-generation Dodge Caravan represented Chrysler doing what it did best in the 1990s: building practical vehicles with cab-forward design that actually worked. These things hauled soccer teams, band equipment, and entire families across America while getting dinged in every grocery store parking lot from coast to coast. The platform that invented the minivan segment kept refining it, and the 1996-2000 generation sold in massive numbers before crossovers ate their lunch.
This particular example presents a fascinating contradiction. The odometer shows just 24,571 miles across two owners — barely broken in for a vehicle designed to rack up commuter duty. The interior backs this up: that gray cloth and steering wheel look like they've been climate-controlled for most of their existence. But then there's the exterior. That front bumper cover has oxidized into something resembling dried oatmeal, and the lower cladding tells a story of extended outdoor parking, possibly near salt air or aggressive UV. Massachusetts winters and coastal living don't care about your mileage.
So who's this for? Someone who needs a beater van that's mechanically fresh but aesthetically shot. The 3.3 V6 in these things will run forever with basic maintenance, and low miles mean the transmission hasn't had a chance to develop the slipping problems that plague high-mileage examples. Budget $200 for new bumper covers from a junkyard and you've got functional transportation that doesn't owe anyone anything. It's honest, even if its face isn't pretty.
